Malacañang on Friday assured the public that water and food supplies remain sufficient despite the ongoing very strong El Niño phenomenon. Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said Angat Dam’s water level stood at 208.70 meters as of November 3, above its 180-meter minimum operating level. Castro added that the Department of Agriculture is ensuring sufficient food supplies, particularly rice, while the Department of Energy is overseeing power plant maintenance. The assurance came as PAGASA reported very strong El Niño conditions in the tropical Pacific, with the government pledging to address its potential impacts.
