The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has extended the application deadline for the regularization of ride-hailing service providers operating under temporary or “tempo” status by another 30 days. The extension, ordered by Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon, aims to help Transport Network Vehicle Services (TNVS) operators secure proper authorization and continue serving commuters legally.
LTFRB Acting Chairman Greg Pua Jr. said the move would assist drivers who joined ride-hailing platforms in good faith but lacked the necessary operating permits. The agency reported receiving 13,216 applications, with 5,091 already granted provisional authority. It also urged applicants to submit complete requirements to avoid delays. Applications may be filed through the LTFRB’s online platform, with the agency offering assistance to those encountering difficulties.
