More than 100 Chinese nationals arrested in separate raids on alleged scam hubs in Zamboanga Sibugay and Cubao, Quezon City have been deported by the Bureau of Immigration (BI), authorities said. The deportees are set to return to China aboard a chartered China Southern Airlines Flight CZ5308, following the completion of immigration proceedings related to their alleged involvement in illegal activities and violations of Philippine immigration laws.
The individuals were among those apprehended during law enforcement operations conducted on Oct. 2, 2026, in Zamboanga Sibugay and Oct. 12, 2026, in Cubao, as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to dismantle suspected scam operations operating in the country. According to the BI, the deportation forms part of a broader campaign ordered by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to intensify the crackdown on scam hubs and illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) activities. Authorities have vowed to continue pursuing foreign nationals found using the country as a base for fraudulent online schemes and other transnational crimes. The immigration bureau said it remains committed to enforcing the country’s immigration laws and supporting interagency efforts against organized criminal networks.
