The Department of Agriculture (DA) has strengthened its review of project documents, particularly farm-to-market road (FMR) projects, following the discovery of coordinate discrepancies in eight out of 1,669 proposed projects for 2027. Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. ordered a comprehensive review and improvements in geotagging, internal assessments, and third-party validation to ensure the accuracy of project information. The DA is also coordinating with civil society organizations to correct the errors and strengthen transparency and accountability in the use of public funds.
