Rockstar Games has officially confirmed the preload schedule, global release timing, and install size for the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) ahead of its worldwide launch on November 19.
According to Rockstar, digital preloading for PlayStation 5 will begin at midnight local time on November 10, while Xbox Series X|S users can start preloading at 12:00 a.m. GMT on the same date. Physical code-in-box editions are expected to be available from retailers beginning November 12.
The company also confirmed that GTA 6 will require approximately 212GB of storage space, making it one of the largest game installations to date. The file size is expected to occupy a significant portion of the storage capacity of most gaming consoles, particularly models equipped with 1TB drives.
Rockstar attributed the game’s massive size to its expansive open world, large number of non-playable characters (NPCs), extensive dialogue, and other advanced gameplay features. The game is set in Leonida, the fictional state that serves as GTA 6’s primary setting.
In addition, Rockstar announced that players will be able to purchase a printable GTA 6 cover art poster and a digital map of Leonida starting November 19. A physical version of the map and poster will be released later and included with purchases made through the Rockstar Store.
The announcement provides fans with the final details they need ahead of the launch of what is expected to be one of the biggest video game releases in recent years.
