Ten engineers from the Philippine Space Agency (PhilSA) have completed hands-on rocket training in South Korea as the Philippines prepares for its planned demonstration launch in early 2027. The training concluded on October 20, 2026, at Perigee Aerospace Inc.’s Rocket Development Complex in Okcheon, where the engineers conducted assembly, integration, and testing of a liquid-fueled sounding rocket under the SIKLAB Project.

PhilSA said the rocket and ground support equipment will be shipped to the Philippines for final assembly and testing in Cagayan ahead of the planned launch. The initiative aims to strengthen the country’s domestic space launch capabilities and create opportunities for Filipino engineers, researchers, and local industries to participate in the growing space sector.
