The Bureau of Immigration (BI) arrested two foreign fugitives, a Taiwanese and a South Korean, in separate operations over their alleged involvement in large-scale fraud and illegal online gambling. The Taiwanese suspect, Yu Sheng Fu, 27, was arrested in Mandaue City on October 29 for allegedly leading a fraud syndicate that victimized over 200 Taiwanese nationals. Meanwhile, South Korean Ha Jonhoo, 46, was apprehended in Pasay City on November 2 for allegedly facilitating illegal online baccarat gambling. Both suspects are detained at the BI facility in Taguig City pending deportation proceedings. The bureau said they will be blacklisted and barred from returning to the Philippines once deportation orders are issued.
